Akure-South Local Government effectively conducted a pivotal stakeholder meeting for the 2025 budget, underscoring its unwavering commitment to an inclusive budgeting process.
The Chairman of Akure-South Local Government, Hon. Dr. Gbenga Fasua, in collaboration with the Akure-South Office of Budget Planning, led by Comrade Tope Balogun, convened a powerful assembly of stakeholders to shape the upcoming budget. This diverse group included representatives from local communities—Obas, religious leaders, market women, ward leaders from all 11 wards, artisans, and youth—demonstrating a unified call for attention to the needs of the people.
The primary aim of this meeting was crystal clear: to develop a 2025 budget that directly addresses the urgent necessities of the residents of Akure-South, ensuring that no individual or community is left behind.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the Chairman’s relentless dedication to transforming Akure-South. They articulated their priorities, which included the creation of jobs, enhanced welfare packages for Obas and religious leaders, improved road infrastructure, installation of solar panels for street lighting, dependable boreholes for water supply, fortified security measures, and other critical social amenities.
In response, the Chairman acknowledged their feedback with a resolute commitment to fulfilling these needs.
He laid out his administration’s achievements thus far and highlighted the potential for further advancements. His focus is unequivocal: every community within the local council must benefit from effective local governance.

Ayodele Adebayo, Vice-Chairman Akure East LCDA, Hon. Adedeji, Secretary Akure-South LGA, Hon. Mrs Margaret Gbadamosi, all supervisors of Akure-South, community leaders, iyalojas, ward leaders, and the management team led by HOLGA Comrade Mrs Dupe Omoloja, alongside NULGE Acting Chairman Comrade Mrs Bose David, Information Officer Mrs A.O.
