ALAGBAKA EXTENSION RESIDENTS GO SPIRITUAL OVER ROAD PROJECT COMPLETION
… Express hope that area would benefit from recent approval for completion and commencement of over 50 projects by Governor Aiyedatiwa
Residents of Alagbaka Extension in Akure the Ondo State capital have gone spiritual towards ensuring the completion of the road project in the area.
The Alagbaka Extension GRA comprises of Olu-Ajayi-Elekumo, Agbara, Ologunmolare and other layouts which observers have described as the fastest developing community in the state capital.
The residents and landlords had gathered at the community centre for the 2024 End-of-The-Year celebrations where the issue of the road project in the area topped prayer points.
They also prayed and expressed the hope that the recent approval of over 50 road projects and completion of ongoing ones would benefit the residents.
The state government had embarked on the construction of the road linking the SIIB area from Alagbaka area but pace of work has been slow and eventually suspended.
This led to the deployment of spirituality with the hope that recent order and release of funds by Governor Aiyedatiwa would lead to the completion of the project.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the Landlords Association, Hon. Fred Ojo reflected on various efforts the residents had been putting in place to make the road motorable.
In his words, “we had to tax every Landlord to make a contribution which we exprended on the grading and sand-filling of the road to make it motorable and that’s how we have been attending to the road on an annual basis”.
“We are however hopeful that recent approval and order given by Governor Aiyedatiwa on completion of existing projects as well as commencement of new ones would affect our area”.
