ALL DEMOCRATIC ALLIANCE ADVOCATES PEACEFUL AND CONSTITUTIONAL RESISTANCE
The All Democratic Alliance (ADA) warmly salutes Nigerians for their uncommon resilience, patience, stoicism and collective sense of responsibility in the face of severe economic and social challenges confronting the nation.
This was contained in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Leye Igbabo.
“Our political association observes with deep concern, ongoing governance challenges, including policy instability and uncertainty, which have contributed to public anxiety and declining confidence in the economy and public institutions”.
“While the endurance and resilience displayed by Nigerians are admirable and perhaps unparalleled, we respectfully submit that the moment has come for citizens to peacefully, lawfully and constitutionally resist any further acts of unconstitutionality, insensitivity and governance practices that undermine the welfare, dignity and rights of the Nigerian people, particularly as the 2027 general elections approach”.
“We recall how national leadership has, over time, inspired high expectations and hope among Nigerians. Today, however, many citizens continue to grapple with deepening hardship, poverty, insecurity, economic uncertainty, social anxiety and emerging concerns over national sovereignty, all of which have eroded the dignity and wellbeing of millions of Nigerians”.
“It has therefore become evident that the aspirations and expectations of Nigerians remain largely unmet. The resulting national disillusionment is both painful and instructive, underscoring the urgent need for a renewed commitment to people-centred, accountable and constitutional governance*.
*The *All Democratic Alliance* wishes to state, with utmost sincerity and respect for constitutional order, that Nigeria is in urgent need of credible, principled and law-abiding political alternatives capable of restoring public trust and confidence in governance. It is within this democratic context that *ADA* presents itself as a serious, responsible and constitutionally grounded political platform prepared to offer Nigerians such an alternative”.
“It is also in this light that we view the persistent efforts to deny *ADA* its rightful registration as deeply concerning for democratic pluralism”.
“We further alert Nigerians to the growing risks associated with the weakening of political pluralism and the narrowing of democratic space through the suppression of new political platforms and undue pressure on opposition voices”.
” Such trends pose grave dangers to democratic choice, national unity and long-term stability.
This is a path Nigeria must not follow”.
“In the supreme interest of the Republic, Nigerians must, through peaceful civic engagement, constitutional means and democratic participation, firmly reject all forms of political coercion, exclusion and governance practices that inflict unnecessary hardship on the people”.
“The destiny of Nigeria ultimately rests with Nigerians themselves. No external force is required. The Constitution has already vested sovereignty in the people. What is required now is the collective resolve to exercise that sovereignty responsibly, lawfully and courageously”.
“The *All Democratic Alliance* assures Nigerians of its total commitment to democracy, national unity, social justice and economic recovery”.
“ADA stands ready to partner with Nigerians in a genuine, peaceful and constitutional rescue mission aimed at redirecting our nation from its present distress toward stability, prosperity and shared progress”.
