ANGLICAN BISHOP FAGBEMI, ONDO FEDERAL LAWMAKER ADELEGBE TRADE WORDS OVER ACCESSIBILITY TO CONSTITUENTS
…You have been far from those who voted for you since election – Bishop
…You are acting on wrong information from people out to destroy my credibility – Adelegbe
The Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Rt. Revd Stephen Fagbemi expressed disappointment over the attitude of Oluwatimehin Adelegbe, the member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.
According to Bishop Fagbemi, Adelegbe has become inaccessible to his constituents since becoming a lawmaker.
The Bishop made these remarks at a church service held in December last at St Andrew’s Imola Owo, in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
He specifically told Adelegbe, “You have not been accessible to those who voted for you since you went to Abuja. Your number is no longer available.”
In contrast, Bishop Fagbemi commended Adegboyega Adefarati, the lawmaker representing Akoko South East/Akoko South West Federal Constituency, for his dedication to his people.
Meanwhile in a response to this by the Lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe described the statement accusing him of not been accessible to his constituents since he was elected as a blatant lie.
According to a statement, “Otunba Adelegbe would have preferred to ignore the statement but for the fact that the unfortunate statement was coming from a highly respected clergy during a church service attended by a a large crowd”.
“Equally, it is our contention that the Lord Bishop was acting on wrong and unverified information from faceless people who are out to destroy the unparalleled and unequal credibility of Otunba Adelegbe in the history of Owo/Ose politics”.
Reacting to the wrong allegation, Otunba Adelegbe said “my line is always on, I pick all manner of calls and if I’m busy, I do return all the missed calls, so, i don’t know where this allegation is coming from because the Bishop has never called me without picking it”, the statement added.
