A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Dr. (Barr) Olumuyiwa Adu (Cubana) has congratulated all the democratically elected local government Chairmen and Vice Chairmen on their inauguratiion by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the event in Akure, the APC chieftain who was visibly elated described the new council bosses as co- drivers of development and good governance in the state.
In his words, “Governor Aiyedatiwa has taken the right step by the timely conduct of the local government election. This showcases his readiness to encourage grassroots development, promote inclusive administration and maintain his love for the good people of Ondo state”.
He also admired the political will of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in supporting the much- needed autonomy to the 3rd-tier of government which he said will go a long way to enrich local administration and unbundle developmental bottlenecks at the local level”.
Applauding Governor Aiyedatiwa for retaining the 33 LCDAs, Dr Adu opined strongly that local participation will definitely bring practical development closer to the people and improve their welfare.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa has shown enough courage and competence in his giant strides to bring dividends of democracy to the masses”, Dr Adu assured.
Urging the new helmsmen to seek the face of God in their daily functions and cultivate accountability, Dr Adu prayed for successful tenure as they embark on their constitutional responsibilities across the 18 local government areas of the state.
