APC UK CONDEMNS ATTACK ON AMOTEKUN, CALLS FOR SOPHISTICATED WEAPONS FOR OFFICERS
The South-West Caucus of All Progressives Congress in the United Kingdom has condemned the attack on officers and men of the Amotekun Corps by Fulani herdsmen in Akure North local government area of the State capital.
The caucus described the attack as barbaric and unacceptable and promised to provide support for the victims.
In a statement by the General Secretary, Mr Ayodele Adigun, he expressed shock and outrage over the incident which left some Amotekun officers injured.
Also, the Chairman, Hon Andrew Taiwo, reiterated the group’s call for provision of sophisticated weapons for the Amotekun Corps to enable them protect the people effectively.
The caucus praised the Ondo State government for its prompt response to the incident and its commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property in the state.
The group also called on the federal and state governments to provide necessary enabling laws to support Amotekun to combat insecurity in the region.
