APC WINS All CHAIRMANSHIP, COUNCILLORSHIP SEATS IN ONDO COUNCIL ELECTION
The All Progressive Congress, APC, has won the 18 chairmanship and 203 councilorship seats in the Local Government election held on Jan.18 in Ondo State.
The Chairman, Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), Dr Joseph Aremo announced this at the commission’s headquarters in Akure.
Dr Aremo explained that the election was keenly contested by 12 political parties as the PDP withdrew from the process 48 hours before the election.
He explained that the contest for chairmanship and councillorship seats held in the 18 local government areas and 203 wards.
Dr Aremo commended Ondo state residents for upholding the tenets of rule of law, and for coming out to vote for the candidates of their choices.
Meanwhile, the headquarters of the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission ODIEC is currently filled with winners of the All Progressives Congress as well as party members for the official presentation of certificate of return to the chairmen-elect.
ODIEC has also scheduled the presentation of certificates of return to the 203 Chancellors- elect for Tuesday.
