BAT VANGUARD TACKLES EMIR OF DAURA OVER STATEMENT ON VOTING DECISION IN 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

The BAT Vanguard in Nigeria has joined voices condemning a statement credited to the Emir of Daura in Katsina State, Faruk Umar Daruk that “northerners should vote for their own” in the forthcoming presidential election.
A similar statement was reported to have been made by a former Minister of Agriculture,and Rural Development, Sani Zango Daura, a few days before.
According to a statement issued at the end of national officials of the BAT VANGUARD led by its convener, Hon.(Engr) Olusola Olofin in Abuja, the the political organisation criticised the Emir of Daura and the former Minister for overlooking pedigree and national acceptability and political sagacity of the APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The BAT Vanguard expressed concern that the Emir and the former Minister could still be thinking in an old way of politicking with the level of advancement being witnessed and recorded in the country as many northerners are pitching their tent with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, having been a loyal political leader to the people without tribal sentiments.
The Vanguard condemned both statements , saying they were retrogressive, unpopular and capable of undermining the advancements so far recorded in the political space.
While emphasizing the place of the APC presidential candidate in building political platforms in the northern part of the country, the Vanguard stressed that “Asiwaju Bola Tinubu started his political carrier from People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) formed by Late Gen. Sheu Musa Yara’dua”.
“Asiwaju was the youngest strategist in the group even before Atiku Abubakar joined same two years later and this was buttressed during the visit of the former Lagos State Governor to Arewa House in Kaduna recently”.
The BAT Vanguard argued that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has done more than many northerners to develop political leaders from the the region as programmes and ideas initiated by him had imparted on the people without tribal sentiments.
“He has assisted some northerners politically and they include Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, former Vice President and PDP flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar, Current President Muhammad Buhari, Kebbi State governor, Abubakar Bagudu, Jigawa State governor, Mohammad Badaru while he is also a very good friend of Late emir of borgu Kingdom in Niger State”.
The BAT Vanguard therefore charged eligible voters who are yet to collect their PVCs to take advantage of the remaining days to do so as PVC remains their political power to determine who governs them.
