A road construction expert, Engr. Kehinde Osikoya, FNSE has joined numerous Nigerians to identify with former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Iyiola Adetola and made available to newsmen, Engr. Osikoya described the two-time governor of the Sunshine State as a passionate societal development agent.
Osikoya who served as the Chairman of Ondo State Agency for Road Maintenance and Construction (OSARMCO) said Dr. Mimiko’s impacts on rural as well as urban areas remain a reference point in terms of providing access roads to the people.
In his words, “I remember we were not only maintaining roads across the three senatorial districts, we had our teams of engineers working on box culverts of varying sizes to provide access to many communities that have been cut off in the past.”
“While these going on simultaneously, roads that had hitherto thought could not be achieved were constructed in record times. I make reference to the Bishop’s Court – Parliament road which we constructed in less than three months, even though it was dualized.”
“The people of Igbotu area would also not forget in a hurry how we were able to carry out the construction of the road linking the area on the stern instructions of the former governor.”
“As Dr. Mimiko attains age seventy today, I join his numerous admirers globally to wish him more good years in good health.”
Engr. Osikoya prayed for more accomplishments and recognition as the celebrant continues to play his part in the socio-economic and political development of his state and Nigeria in general.
