CHIEF ADMINISTRATOR, DIIPO FAGUNWA PENS GLOWING TRIBUTES TO BODE OYEWOLE ON 5TH MEMORIAL ANNIVERSARY
… Describes founder of Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti Alumni Facebook Page as a force that united ancient and modern alumni
IN LOVING MEMORY OF CHIEF BỌ̀DÉ OYÈÉWỌLÉ — VISIONARY FOUNDER OF OUR PLATFORM
Today marks the fifth memorial anniversary of our beloved founder, Chief Bọ̀dé Oyèéwọlé (1962–1968 set, Babáḿbọni House), the immediate past Chief Administrator of this platform. He was the force that united alumni of our great institution through Facebook, laying the foundation for a community that continues to flourish beyond boundaries.
We give thanks to God that since his transition to eternity, this platform has grown from strength to strength, impacting lives and forging deeper connections. Chief Oyèéwọlé was an accomplished journalist and media icon from Ibadan. Among his other accomplishments, he served with distinction as Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ọ̀yọ́ State, Chairman of the ICC Football Club, and media adviser to several Ọ̀yọ́ State governors.
Chief Bọ̀dé Oyèéwọlé was a proud alumnus; his unwavering love for our alma mater was evident in all he did. To honour his legacy, the administrator team is dedicating today’s activities entirely to his memory, with all other engagements respectfully postponed until tomorrow.
We have every reason to celebrate this visionary leader whose initiative birthed the very portal that now connects over 4,000 alumni and continues to grow. Through this platform, we’ve witnessed reunions across generations, recognised successes and achievements, shared in joys and supported one another through trials. Even in challenging times, the name of Christ—whom our alma mater honours has been our anchor.
With gratitude and affection, we remember Chief Bọ̀dé Oyèéwọlé today and pray he continues to rest in perfect peace in the eternal embrace of his Maker.
