
COURT VERDICT: DEJI APPOINTS HIGH CHIEF GBENGA ADEYEYE AS NEW IRALEPO OF ISIKAN
The Deji & the Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR has formally presented certificate to High Chief Gbenga Henry Adeyeye as the new Iralepo of Isikan Quarters, Akure.
The Deji had officially removed the Iralepo of Isikan, Gbenga Ojo as Isikan community insisted that Gbenga Ojo remains their monarch.
In a letter personally signed by the Deji of Akure Land which partly stated that “Sequel to the judgment of the court of Appeal in a suit No: CA/AK/69/2022, I hereby write to notify you of your removal as Chief Iralepo of Isikan Quarters in Akure with immediate effect.
The letter reads further that Mr. Gbenga Ojo is requested to vacate the traditional palace of the Iralepo of Isikan with immediate effect as the new Quarter Chief of Isikan shall be resuming to the palace very soon.
The Deji also ordered the former Iralepo, Mr. Gbenga Ojo to handover all palace properties within his possession to the appropriate quarters for proper documentation.
“In view of the installation and appointment of High Chief Gbenga Henry Adeyeye as the new Iralepo of Isikan quarters, he is now entitled to wear all paraphernalia of office attached to the stool of the Iralepo of Isikan while Mr. Gbenga Ojo is advised to desist from parading himself in whatever manner”.
“We wish to inform Mr. Gbenga Ojo that any violation of the afore-stated shall be met stiffer penalties including committal proceedings”.
The presentation of certificate to the new Iralepo was witnessed by the Omowa of Isikan and other dignitaries at the palace of the Deji of Akure Land.
According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deji, Michael Adeyeye, “the palace wishes to congratulate the new Iralepo and urge him to ensure the development and progress of Isikan community under his watch”.
