CREATE A BETTER WORLD FOR CHILDREN, OLUMUYIWA ADU CHARGES STAKEHOLDERS
As we celebrate Children’s Day today, Ondo state APC Chieftain, Dr Barr. Olumuyiwa Adu (Cubana) rejoices with the young minds who are the future of our world.
In his statement released through his Media Council and made available to the Press, Dr Barr. Olumuyiwa Adu said Children’s Day reminds us of the joy, Innocence and potential that each child possesses.
Recall that Nigeria adopted children’s Day as a public holiday on the 27th May, 1964 and it is celebrated annually to honour children and acknowledge their rights, well- being and education.
Expressing his excitement and recognition of today’s significance, Dr Adu shared his message of hope and inspiration. He affirmed that each child has a peculiar talent deposited in him or her and regaled how God has uplifted him to a global achiever despite his humble background.
He therefore stressed that, “Our society can help children to be useful by paying more attention to their upbringing because a child that is properly brought up normally transforms into a productive adult.”
Stating the importance of children in the society, Dr Adu described them as valuable resources and the best hope for the future as they are in need of government encouragement.
” The government at all levels must pay utmost attention to the future of the nation by prioritising the children’s welfare and implementing policies that can bring the best of today out of these children tomorrow”.
Dr Adu also charged parents to protect the children’s rights, create safe and conductive environments for them and mentorship that can nurture their dreams.
“Parents should not use money meant for payment of school fees to buy ‘aso ebi’ or eat “pepper soup” at the expense of their children’s education. This will present dangerous challenges to such children in our competitive society that is technologically driven” Dr Adu advised.
“Leaders should strive to create a better world for the little ones through guidance, support and other interventions” Dr Adu submitted.
Dr Adu wished them joyous moments of today’s events and prayed for their great accomplishments in future endeavours.
