
CULTURE AND TRADITION ON DISPLAY AS TUNJI OWOEYE, WIFE INSTALLED OTUNBA AND YEYE OTUNBA OF OKE-LISA IN AKURE
… Event attracted friends, family members and associates as well as Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti Alumni
It was a display of culture and tradition in Akure the Ondo State capital as international business mogul, Tunji Mayowa Owoeye and wife were installed the Otunba and Yeye Otunba of Oke-Lisa in the state capital.
Friends, family members and associates from across Nigeria and Overseas gathered at the Olisa’s Palace to identify with their own at the event laced with cultural and traditional touches.
There was display of culture and tradition as mobile band entertained the gathering ahead of the installation.
Apart from masquerades that displayed to entertain the gathering, the mobile band was able to prove that talents abound in Yoruba Land and Nigeria.
Traditional authorities in attendance include the Aro of Akure, Asamo of Akure, Odopetu of Akure, Odofin of Akure, the Obaloja of Oke-Lisa, Chief Niyi Omotara who also doubles as the Ajiroba of Ikun-Ekiti as well as an elder of the community, Hon. Tony Ala.
The Olisa of Oke-Lisa, Senior High Chief Sunday Olubodun described the event as an opportunity to recognise the various contributions of Otunba Tunji Owoeye and his wife, Yeye Otunba Tunji Owoeye to development of both humans and society at large.
The traditional authority said the installation marks a great honour and recognition for someone who has been a rallying point for his people both at home and in the diaspora.
Similarly, the Odofin of Akure Land, Senior High Akin Adinlewa charged the Otunba Tunji Owoeye and Yeye Otunba Kunbi Owoeye to keep playing their parts in moving society forward.
Chief Adinlewa emphasised that the traditional recognition shows that Otunba Tunji Owoeye and Yeye Otunba Kunbi Owoeye should respond to Akure as a whole when his presence and contributions are required.
Also speaking, an elder of the community, Hon. Tony Ala charged Otunba Tunji Owoeye and Yeye Otunba Kunbi Owoeye to interact with the Olisa on how to add value to the community and Akure in general.
In his comment, Chief Niyi Omotara the Obaloja of Oke-Lisa who is also the Ajiroba of Ikun-Ekiti expressed confidence that emergence of Otunba Tunji Owoeye and Yeye Otunba Kunbi Owoeye as Chiefs in Oke-Lisa would attract development to the community and Akure at large.
In his speech, the Olisa Sunday Olubodun also expressed confidence that the development would justify the confidence reposed in the international business mogul and accomplished entrepreneur as a passionate philanthropist.
Speaking on behalf of the friends of Otunba Tunji Owoeye and Yeye Otunba Kunbi Owoeye, Omooba Michael Orenuga assured the Olisa, Oke-Lisa and Akure land that the newly installed Chiefs would add value to the community as already being demonstrated in the lives of both family, friends and associates as well as communities.
In an interview with Otunba Tunji Owoeye and Yeye Otunba Kunbi Owoeye, they expressed the readiness to play significant roles in developing their people and Oke-Lisa.
Guests were later entertained at Fa-Fun Events Place where there was must to eat and drink while live band and Disc Jockey were on hand to add glamour to the occasion.
The event attracted friends and old school mates of Otunba Tunji Owoeye at Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti.
The team was led by the Chairman, Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Adejumoke Agunbiade(Rtd).
The roll call at the gathering also include the Abobarin of Aisegba-Ekiti, Chief Kingsley Ade Ogunmiloyo, Tunde Ajayi popularly known as Ajasco, former SDP Presidential Aspirant, Otunba Reuben Famuyibo, Abiodun Oladele, Muyiwa Fatoba and member House of Representatives in Ekiti, Hon. Sola Fatoba.
It was a great period for reunion as opportunities were created to catch fun.
