DEATHS FROM PALLIATIVES: ‘THE NIGERIAN PROJECT’ NATIONAL CONVENER, UFOMBA SYMPATHISES WITH VICTIMS’ FAMILIES
‘The Nigerian Project’ has sympathised with the families of those who lost their lives in the stampedes which occurred in Abuja, Anambra and Ibadan in Oyo States.
Reports had it that no fewer than 35 children lost their lives in Ibadan, 17 in Anambra and another 10 in the Federal Capital Territory while trying to benefit from palliatives from different organisations.
The tragic events which occured in about 48hours has thrown the country in a morning mood.
This made the National Convener of ‘The Nigerian Project’, Chief Reagan Ufomba came up with a statement to sympathise with the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic events.
In his words, “we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who tragically lost their lives in the recent stampede for food palliatives*.
“”Words cannot fully express the sorrow we feel for your loss, an obvious double tragedy”, Ufomba said.
The National Convener described the recent developments as a sign that there is an urgent need to rescue the country to enable Nigerian witness a new era.
“This heartbreaking event serves as a solemn reminder of the urgent need to address the hardships that so many face daily”.
“The Nigerian Project’ deeply regrets the avoidable loss of lives in a nation so richly blessed by God. Nigeria, a land of plenty, should be a haven of prosperity and safety for all”.
“May the families affected find strength, and may we, as members and a nation, commit to ensuring such tragedies never occur again. May the departed rest in peace”, Chief Ufomba added.
