The Deputy Convener of Aiyedatiwa Leadership League Mr Bode Famose has described His Excellency Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the best choice for the position of APC governorship candidate in the 2024 Ondo State gubernatorial race.
Speaking with newsmen in Igbara-Oke the headquarters of Ifedore Local Government Area on Friday, Mr Bode Famose described Governor Aiyedatiwa as a people oriented leader who is a worker-friendly Governor who has put smiles on the faces of civil and public servants including retirees in Ondo State with payment of all long-standing arrears of salaries, gratuity and pension in addition to provision of palliatives
According to Famose the who was a Director of National Orientation Agency in the state, Aiyedatiwa has brought rejuvenation into education sector with ongoing recruitment of more than 2000 teachers to rescue acute shortage of teachers in the State and also paid WAEC fees of all final year students in public secondary schools in the State,
“The performing Governor is changing the face of infrastructural architecture of state tertiary institutions and rehabilitating hundreds of primary schools in the state”.
“The Governor deliberately brought rejuvenation into provision of infrastructural facilities with high intensity seen in roads construction across the state”.
“Our State Capital is wearing a much better look within this short period of time Governor Aiyedatiwa assumed office with the LIGHT UP AKURE PROJECT witnessed major roads in Akure the state capital”.
“OPERATION KEEP ONDO STATE CLEAN INITIATIVE of Governor Aiyedatiwa- led administration has recorded remarkable improvement in waste management in the State Capital in particular and other parts of the state”
The Igbara-Oke -born retired federal public servant said the development is a brilliant effort at making the state one of the cleanest in Nigeria as it used to be in the past.
Famose emphasized that the OPERATION FLUSH INITIATIVE is ongoing unabated to ensure that channelization is carried out ahead of the raining season to prevent incessant flooding.
The Deputy Convener of Aiyedatiwa Leadership League drew attention to some of the achievements of Chief Obafemi Awolowo of blessed memory which include establishment of 1,740 hectares of Cocoa Plantation at oda in 1954 which was the backbone of revenue generation in the then Western Nigeria through the Western Nigeria Marketing Board.
“The facility which was abandoned for more than 40 years in the days of the military, was central to the building of Ibadan Cocoa House and other Odua Investment holdings.”
“To reap maximum benefit from this semi abandoned humongous facility, His Excellency, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa the Governor of Ondo State approved construction of rural roads from oda Cocoa Board at langbodo to oda town as one of the rural roads he approved for construction in the 3 senatorial districts”.
“Not only that, our resourceful Governor established Agriculture and Food Security Committee as a strategic effort in the Agricultural Sector to increase food production, generate employment and boost IGR in the state. Due attention on the Oda Cocoa Board which is in this senatorial district and other similar semi abandoned facilities across the State by the Agriculture and Food Security Committee will definitely mitigate the challenges of food production, employment generation and boost revenue generation. ”
Mr Bode Famose drew the attention of His Excellency to the fact that the largest cassava processing plant in Ondo State established by FIIRO, located in Igbara Oke, which has the capacity of offtake virtually all cassava tubers produced in Ondo State, was handed over to Igbara Oke Development Association at the Commissioning of the facility recently by FIIRO.
According to him, the federal project will no doubt enhance the success of the Agriculture and food security committee of the Governor Aiyedatiwa-led administration and the renewed hope agenda of president bola Ahmed Tinubu on hunger eradication.
Mr Famose who is the also the general Secretary of Igbara Oke Development Association mentioned with appreciation the approval given by His Excellency Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa immediately after assumption of office, to the citing of a vehicle Transit Area at shasha in Igbara Oke.
Mr Famose urged all APC card carrying members to support the election bid of the Governor of Ondo State in the forth coming primary election.
