DR FAYEMI MOURNS PASSING OF EKITI STATE CHIEF JUDGE, JUSTICE JOHN OYEWOLE ADEYEYE
Dr Kayode Fayemi, the former Governor of Ekiti State has mourned the passing of the Ekiti State Chief Judge, Honourable Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye describing him as a guardian of justice dedicated to the service of the people.
In a statement issued by his Personal Assistant, Mr Dayo Ajibaye, Dr. Fayemi noted that the sudden demise of justice Adeyeye is a great loss to the judicial system in Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.
“I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Honourable Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye, the Chief Judge of Ekiti State. This is a great loss, not only for Ekiti State but Nigeria as a whole. Justice Adeyeye was a towering figure in our judiciary, a dedicated jurist, and a steadfast guardian of justice who served the people of Nigeria and Ekiti with honour, diligence, and integrity”, he said.
The late Justice Adeyeye, inaugurated as Chief Judge in Ekiti State in October 2021 during Dr Kayode Fayemi’s tenure as Governor was an upright and honest public servant, passionate and committed to the welfare of judicial personnel in the state.
Fayemi added: “Justice Adeyeye’s contributions to the development of the judiciary in Ekiti State are immeasurable. He was not only a paragon of judicial prudence but also a mentor to many within the legal profession. His approach to the law was marked by his passion for justice, fairness, and compassion, values that defined his life and work. He was a man committed to the welfare of judicial personnel in Ekiti State”.
“His ideals, leadership and judgements will continue to guide us as we rededicate ourselves to the vision of a fair and more prosperous Ekiti. In this moment of sorrow, I urge all members and supporters of our Judiciary to remain strong and united in honouring the memory of the late Chief Judge.
“On behalf of my family, I extend my deep condolences to the Ekiti State government, the family, friends and associates of the late Honourable Justice Adeyeye.
“May his soul rest in peace, and may God grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
