
DR OLUMUYIWA ADU CELEBRATES DEMOCRACY DAY WITH NIGERIANS
…Says June 12 struggle symbolizes heroism and patriotism
…Calls for patience and cooperation with APC administration
The Ondo Central Senatorial Hopeful and a renowned Philanthropist, Dr Barr. Olumuyiwa Adu aka Cubana has felicitated Nigerians on the celebration of June 12 Democracy Day.
In a press statement made available by his Media Council, Dr Adu expressed his goodwill message, eulogizing Nigerians’ resilience and perseverance to withstand oppressive tendencies.
He described June 12 as a watershed in the political annal of our dear nation with political experience and experiments that unified us a people in our struggle to freedom and democracy.
“The present gains are the products of our past pains, bravery, sacrifice and courage to entrench democracy- the hallmark of human development and civilized relationships”. Dr Adu stated.
Dr Adu praised the eminent Nigerians and other unsung victims, living or dead, who showed uncommon patriotism and heroism during ‘our long walk to freedom’, emphasizing that their efforts are pivotal to the present stability.
Dr Adu appreciated the APC government for the recognition given to the late Chief MKO Abiola- The principal martyr of the annulment of the June 12 mandate whose name has become a recurrent decimal in our political lexicography.
” In a dramatic twist of fate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who was at the trenches fighting the injustice, during this sad episode of our national life, is now on the saddle as the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, restoring the lost glory with enviable leadership and massive infrastructural development, purpose -driven programmes and proactive actions”. The statement stressed further.
Dr Adu used this occasion to appeal to the citizens to be law abiding and to continue their support for Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Executive Governor of Ondo state and the APC- led administration at all levels in their resolve to tackle head-on the temporary challenges facing the country.
“It will take a little while to correct the inherited imbalances and other liabilities but sunlight will shine brightly at the end of our dark tunnel, let’s just be patient”
In the equal vein, Dr Adu Cubana urged the political office holders to use their privileged positions to better the lot of the masses as to rekindle their hopes and confidence in democratic practices and processes.
“Your actions will go a long way to re-energize the dwindling hope of the long- suffering masses in our democratic ethos and tenets” Dr Adu submitted.
As realignment for 2027 elections hots up, Dr Adu advised the stakeholders and electorate to support politicians for subsequent elections on the strength of their leadership qualities; their demonstration of kindness, good characters and competence to discharge their duties with fairness, diligence and accountability”.
Dr Adu prayed for the good and prosperity of our land and wished all Nigerians joyous moments on this celebration.
