EID-EL KABIR: IJARE-BORN PHILANTHROPIST SAMUEL AJAYI PREACHES UNITY, PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE
A philanthropist and leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Samuel Ajayi has urged Muslim faithful to imbibe spirit of tolerance and fulfillment of promises.
The Ijare-born entrepreneur also emphasized the need for Nigerians to keep preaching tolerance and perseverance as major prerequisites for societal development and growth of the country.
In a statement by his Media Team and made available to newsmen in Akure to felicitate Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el Kabir, Samuel Ajayi called on the privileged to extend hands to the needy during and after the celebration.
In his words,”It is pertinent for us to see beyond the festivities and reflect deeply on the lessons with a focus on Prophet Ibrahim who made a vow to sacrifice his only son but Allah replaced the obedient son with a ram”.
“We should all be committed to fulfilling our avowed commitment to either individuals, communities and even our creator”.
“Eid El Kabir also offers a great insight into the imperative of unity of purpose beginning from the home front as exemplified by the household of Ibrahim wherein the wife and child recognized the leadership of the man”, Ajayi noted.
“Many societal upheavals manifested in moral decadence and endemic corruption today could be traced to the collapse of the family structure as building blocks of a larger community”.
“So as we mark yet another Eid, it is essential for us to put God first in all our daily endeavors. We must be ready to let go of our comfort zone and make the much needed sacrifice in order to attain higher ideals of lasting accomplishments”, the APC leader emphasized.
“I implore Muslims in particular and indeed every participant in the Nigerian project to imbibe the spirit of selflessness, perseverance, patience and above all sacrifice for the Eid to make meaning in our lives as individuals, communities, the nation and global community in general”, the philanthropist stated.
“Let those who could afford to slaughter rams, camels , goats, cows and other beasts of sacrifice extend the hands of charity to extended families, neighbour and colleagues
without forgetting the poor, the needy and other vulnerable persons”, the Ijare-born political leader added.
