EKITI APC CHIEFTAIN, DELE PHILIPS HAILS SUPREME COURT VERDICT ON GOVERNOR OYEBANJI’S ELECTION
The Chairman of BAO Campaign Committee in Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Mr. Dele Philips has hailed the Supreme Court judgement re-affirming the election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
The APC Chieftain who spoke with newsmen described the development as a victory for democracy and the people of Ekiti State who spoke through the ballot during the governorship election.
The Apex court sitting in Abuja on Thursday dismissed the petition of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Governorship Candidate, Chief Segun Oni challenging Biodun Oyebanji’s victory the June 18, 2022 Governorship election in Ekiti State.
Dele Philips said the pronouncement is another confirmation that the people of Ekiti State decided that they wanted a Governor who had been part of them with a view to benefitting from democratic existence.
The APC Chieftain hailed the judiciary for carrying out their duties without fear or favour, emphasizing that the decision of the apex court would enable government to focus more on the ongoing human and societal development across the state.
Dele Philips called on the people of Ekiti State to cooperate with Governor Biodun Oyebanji in his quest to restore the belief of the people in democratic existence, stating that the last few months in the state had witnessed massive infrastructural Intervention.
“Take a look at what we have witnessed in terms of tourism development, road rehabilitation, educational development as well as regular payment of salaries, then you would agree with me that we chose the right person to lead in our dear state”, Dele Philips said.
“I use this opportunity to call on all those who contested the governorship election with Governor Oyebanji to work with him to develop our dear state as we are determined to become a reference point in the country in terms of human capacity development and societal development”, Philips added.
