EKITI APC LEADER, DELE PHILIPS HAILS OYEBANJI’S VISION OF NEW ADO-EKITI CITY PROJECT
… Describes recent inauguration of three new road projects in the state capital as justification of the confidence reposed in the governor
A leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Dele Philips has hailed the vision of Governor Biodun Oyebanji to facilitate New Ado-Ekiti City Project.
The party leader was responding to the unveiling of the plan to ensure an all-round urban renewal of the capital city as made public by the governor.
In a statement signed and made available to newsmen by his Media Aide, Iyiola Adetola, the APC leader said the development would not only create socio-economic turnaround but also political recognition among comity of state capitals in Nigeria.
Dele Philips emphasized that creating New Ado-Ekiti City would attract more private sector participation, youth empowerment, investment drives as well as job creation.
The Aramoko-Ekiti-born politician, philanthropist and businessman stressed that such move is capable of changing the narratives of Ekiti State as a civil service state to an industrialised one.
Philips therefore urged the residents of the state to keep supporting the Oyebanji administration to enable the governor continue with his dream to take Ekiti to enviable level in the country.
The state governor, Biodun Oyebanji had made it public the plan of his administration to carry out a new Ado-Ekiti City Project while inaugurating three different road projects across the state capital.
The three new roads that were inaugurated are: Jimoh Aliu-Adewumi Road along Adebayo area, Hospitals Management Board/Doctors’ Quarters Road; and Obisesan-Oke Ala Link Road along Basiri area of the city.
The new roads were also complemented with solar-powered street lights to facilitate illumination and boost nightlife.
Governor Oyebanji said the New City project which would be a well planned residential neighborhood that exists side by side with the traditional section of the state capital.
He said the ongoing Ring Road project which links Iworoko Road with the International Agro Cargo Airport was embarked upon to develop new areas with the long term emergence of a new city where development is controlled without altering the Ado-Ekiti traditional setting.
