
EKITI APC LEADER DELE PHILIPS REJOICES WITH NIGERIANS ON DEMOCRACY DAY
The Vice Chairman of Asiwaju Mandate Group in Ekiti State, Mr Dele Philips has urged all stakeholders in the Nigerian Project to ensure the protection of the nation’s democracy.
The former House of Representatives Aspirant from Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 2 comprising Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero local government areas on the platform of the All Progressives Congress said the task should be seen as a collective responsibility.
In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mr. Seun Adetola and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, Dele Philips stated that the various interventions witnessed under democratic rule require sustainability and improvement.
This, the Aramoko-Ekiti-born politician stressed would facilitate more socio-economic and political development.
In his words, “as the nation marks another Democracy Day, it is a great honour and privilege for me to join Nigerians globally to celebrate day we had the freest and fairest election in the history of our country”.
“The event of that day confirmed that we can have a credible election both at the party level as well as the general polls”.
“That is why the task of protecting and sustaining as well as defending our democracy remains a collective task as we owe upcoming generations a lot of explanations on how we ran the system”.
“Let everyone, from the unit level to the ward and local government as well as the state and federal levels have the consciousness that democracy remains the best form of government that can impart positively on the lives of the people”, Dele Philips emphasized.
The philanthropist used the medium to urge more support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji as he keeps forging ahead to make Ekiti an envy of other states in Nigeria.
Dele Philips stated that the Governor and his team has succeeded in justifying the place of democratic rule with numerous infrastructural interventions across the 18 local government areas of the state.
According to him, Governor Oyebanji is not only committed to infrastructure as welfare of workers have been prioritised with prompt payment of salaries and allowances while senior citizens have never had it so good like under the Oyebanji administration.
He therefore urged people to join hands to actualise the dream of the Governor to run another term to enable him consolidate on the various achievements being recorded.
