EKITI APGA DISSOCIATES SELF FROM PLANNED PROTEST, CALLS FOR CIVILITY
Members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Ekiti State warned against any planned protest in the state.
The party was reacting to a video post by an Indigene of the state and a brother to former governor Ayo Fayose that a protest is being planned for December 8th this year.
In the video, Mr. Fayose claimed that the protest is to put government on its toes to give attention to poor state of the roads in the state
However in his reaction while speaking with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance in the state, Mr. Olufemi Obidoyin said the party has dissociated itself and its members from such plan.
Obidoyin stated that “this is not the period to come up with any protest that’s even restricted to Ekiti State, wondering “why any person or group of persons should come up with such a plan to disrupt the relative peace being enjoyed in the state.”
The APGA chairman maintained that even the proposed plan is political, politics should be played with decorum while the stakeholders must avoid inciting utterances that are capable of creating confusion among the citizenry.
He stressed that even if there are areas requiring explanation, public service as well as governance remains an open sector where enquiries can be responded to appropriately.
Obidoyin therefore urged all members of All Progressives Grand Alliance as well as the citizens of Ekiti State to shun any plan by any person and group of persons to truncate the peaceful coexistence in the state.
