
EKITI ASSEMBLY MEMBER-ELECT, LONGE LIGHTS UP CONSTITUENCY IN APPRECIATION
As part of his initiatives to add value to the lives of the people of his constituency the House of Assembly member-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Oye Constituency 1 , Tope Longe, has provided electricity for his people in fulfilment of his promise to light up his constituency.
At the ceremony held in Oye-Ekiti, Longe distributed and installed solar lights to the benefitting communities in fulfilment of his promise to provide light to improve their businesses as well as enhancing night life and improve the security situation in the constituency.
The benefiting communities include Ayegbaju, Oye, Itaji, Orisunmibare, Ayede, Isan and Ilemeso.
Recently, Longe held a get-together for the kids in the same communities at Oye-Ekiti where he charged them to be obedient, and focus on their studies to become responsible members of their communities.
At the ceremony where the kids were entertained and given cash, Longe said
his motivation for the initiative was that “this class of people are often neglected by the society and nobody cares for them at yuletide or during other ceremonies”.
He added: “I want to give back to the society by reaching out to them. Now that they have resumed to school after holiday, I want to assist them and put smiles on their faces so that they don’t feel neglected in the society.”
Longe counselled the children to be hardworking and obedient to their guardians, stressing that this is necessary to enable them achieve success in future.
Promising to continue to provide necessary assistance for his constituency to improve their living conditions, Longe had said:
“I have programmes for the widows and other categories of the underprivileged, which will come later as part of my constituency programmes for the welfare of our people.
