
EKITI COUNCIL BOSS EBENEZER ADEBUSUYI WARNS AGAINST TAX EVASION
The Acting Chairman of Ekameta Local Council Development Authority in Ekiti State, Chief Ebenezer Adebusuyi has emphasized the place of payment of taxes and other levies payable to local governments in the task of meeting the yearnings and aspiration of the people.
The council boss who was playing host to officials of Glocient Hospitality Consults, the management of Ikogosi Warm Spring at the council secretariat in Erijiyan-Ekiti stressed that taxes and levies play significant roles in generating internal revenue.
Adebusuyi frowned at a situation where some organisations in Ekameta Local Council Development Authority evade taxes and levies, warning that strict measures shall henceforth be taken against defaulters.
“We can all see the impact of the Oyebanji administration in the nooks and crannies of the state in terms of infrastructure and educational development as well as tourism development. The local government too should be able to come up with projects that could compliment his efforts. That’s why all organisations due for payment of taxes and levies should cooperate with us”,the council boss added.
In his comment, the leader of Glocient Consultants promised to work hand-in-hand with the management of the LCDA towards ensuring the generation of IGR(Internally Generated Revenue) that would also go a long way in meeting up with various demands at the local level.
