Frontline House of Representatives hopeful for Ekiti Central Federal Constituency two, Mr. Dele Phillips has obtained the Expression of Interest And Nomination forms in his bid to represent the people of Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero Local Government Areas on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
According to a statement made available to newsmen by his media team, the business mogul said his emergence would experience newness in representation, adding that the journey to the Green Chambers had just begun with the obtaining of the nomination and expression of interest forms.
Mr. Phillips who has made his mark as an international player in the hospitality industry as well as real estate called on his supporters to continue to mobilise the people of Ekiti West, Efon and Ijero Local Government Areas toward the realisation of his ambition.
The aspirant re-echoed his determination to create a new orientation in terms of socio-economic and political development as well as empowerment programmes which he said would impart positively on the lives of the people.
Mr. Phillips also appealed to delegates in the area to consider the future of their children and even the development of the area when taking decisions as the primary elections approach.
He emphasized that structures and processes have been put in place to ensure that the delegates are seen as the real shareholders of the party, assuring that all stakeholders would be given the required recognition.
Mr. Phillips called on his supporters to eschew violence and carry out their mobilisation in peaceful manner, stressing that elections should not be a do-or-die affair.
“All those vying for the positions are qualified and there is no need to molest anyone as only God appoints and I want to warn that anyone that is associated with my name should not be involved in violence”, he added.
Reacting to the development, the Director of Administration of Dele Phillips Foundation, Aare Ebenezer Adebusuyi stated that the people of Ekiti Central Federal Constituency Two would have a robust representation with the emergence of Dele Phillips as member House of Representatives.
In his words, “I want to assure you that none of our people would regret supporting Dele Phillips as a federal legislator. If you are aware of his antecedents as a businessman and philanthropist, you will agree with us that we have brought to you the most qualified”.
Another member of Dele Phillips For Reps Campaign Organisation, Ayodeji Olatunbosun called on youths and delegates in the area to ensure that they give the aspirant their support, emphasizing that he had been carrying out philanthropic activities even before showing interest in politics.
He said “Mr. Dele Phillips has since put in place a Foundation that has been touching lives. We were here when he made available fuel for our people during scarcity while palliative items were also provided for our people here, irrespective of background”.
