EKITI INDIGENE, OLAJIDE OMOTAYO CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF RELOCATION TO EUROPE, REFLECTS ON GOD’S BLESSINGS, GUIDANCE
“…My girl friend who saw me off at the then Ikeja International Airport is my wife today. She has been my ‘igi lehin ogba’ and a greater part of my success over the years. Thank you Yemisi, our best years are yet to come.”
A prominent indigene of Ado-Ekiti the Ekiti State capital, Pastor Olajide Omotayo has reflected on his journey from Nigeria to Europe as he celebrates 50 years of God’s blessings and guidance.
In a post authored by him and made public on his Facebook wall, Pastor Olajide Omotayo who was, and still a soccer lover was popularly known as ‘Asiodu’ being a wizard on the pitch by then.
In the post, the passionate Indigene of Ado-Ekiti shared two issues that caught the attention of Naijaparrots.com unlike the young guys who ‘japa’ today.
Omotayo still married the same girlfriend that saw him off to the airport and was also lucky for the salvation of hia soul.
This shows he must have been a staunch socialite, considering the archival pictures he also shared on his Facebook wall.
“Come and join me sing hallelujah, Jehova Jireh has done me well. Exactly 50 years ago today I left the shore of Nigeria to come to Europe and I want to thank the almighty God for His mercies upon me and my household.”
“Two things I will mention here are:
1. My girl friend who saw me off at the then Ikeja International Airport is my wife today. She has been my “Igi Lehin Ogba” and a greater part of my success over the years. Thank you Yemisi, our best years are yet to come.”
“2. I am thanking the almighty God for the Salvation of my soul. People who are familiar with me will understand why this is an important part of my story. God has been good to me.”
“Some of the pictures posted here were part of the early years in Europe with friends and family. I am saving the rest for my autobiography. Watch out for it.”
“The good Lord has blessed me and has made my life a blessing to many people who came across me and still using me and my story to encourage others that God is a Father who never forget his own.”
One lesson one can learn here is that faithfulness to God and human has a great reward.
This is what happens to many of our young ones today who travel and forget those who stood by them and eventually keep battling life’s challenges.
In his comment, an Ekiti son and a journalist, Seun Adetola said Pastor Olajide Omotayo has always demonstrated a high degree of love and affection for his owns.
According to him, he develops interest in you as long as he realises you have the potentials and willing to make positive opportunities at your disposal.
He congratulated Pastor Olajide Omotayo for being a true son of Ekiti State and by extension Nigeria and Africa.
