
CHILDREN’S DAY: EKITI PHILANTHROPIST, HARRISON NIYI ALONGE CALLS FOR COLLECTIVE EFFORTS AT REDUCING OUT-OF-SCHOOL CHILDREN
The founder of Harrison Niyi Alonge Care Foundation, Mr. Harrison Niyi Alonge has called for concerted efforts at reducing the number of out-of-school children in Ekiti State and Nigeria in general.
The Ikere-Ekiti-born philanthropist stated that the task of ensuring a vibrant and bright future for the children is a collective responsibility.
The International business mogul, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti stressed that both individuals, organisations as well as government at all levels have a role to play in achieving the set targets.
Niyi Alonge who is a son of late Ikere-Ekiti businessman popularly known as ‘Poun-Poun’ assured that his Non-Government Organisation, Harrison Niyi Alonge Care Foundation is putting together programmes that would provide support for brilliant but vulnerable children across the 16 local government areas of the state.
The philanthropist user the medium to urge the state government to also prioritise education of the children in the process of giving the future generations sense of belonging.
This, he said would go a long way in securing their future and guarantee expected socio-economic and political development in the nearest future.
