EKITI RENAISSANCE MOVEMENT CONDEMNS TRADITIONAL RULERS KILLING
Ekiti Movement (ERM)has condemned the gruesome and dastard killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti describing the killing as desecration of revered Traditional institution.
The social cultural and non political movement said in a statement issued and signed by the acting National coordinator , Mr Francis Ogunrotila who described the killing as abominable and distasteful
Ekiti Renaissance Movement pointed out that in the history of Ekiti State such terrible incident has never happened, it portends a very serious implications to our socio cultural well being.
The Ekiti Renaissance Movement described the killing of the Onimojo of Imojo in Oye Local Government, Oba Olatunde Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun in Ajoni Local Council Development Area, Oba David Ogunsakin, who were killed along Irele-Oke Ako road in Ekiti State as a bad omen.
“The ERM sympathize with the people of Imojo, Esun, and Ekiti in general on the sudden death of these traditional rulers.
The perpetrators of this heinous sacred act must be brought to justice”.
In the vein, the movement expressed fear over the fate of the abducted The security school children, the teacher and the driver of the bus conveying them, security agencies should work assiduously to secure the release of the abductees from the kidnappers den .
“With this terrible development, the security architecture in Ekiti State should be overhauled and appropriate Executive Order should be given to the police and other sister security organisations to work in synergy in order mitigate the insecurity uprising in Ekiti State.
This is a challenging period for the the current administration under His Excellency Honourable Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, who must assiduously work in order to guarantee protection of lives and properties of Ekiti indigenes.
The Ekiti Renaissance Movement wants to admonish the Governor to be wary of fifth columnist in his Government who have bad and wicked mindset and antecedents not to derail his administration.
The movement during its end of the year General Assembly meeting held at Ado Ekiti had expressed reservations over the activities of political elites in the State and advised them to be patriotic for the overall development of the State is achieved.
