EKITI RENAISSANCE MOVEMENT TO ESTABLISH STEERING COMMITTEE FOR MONITORING GOVERNMENT PERFORMANCE
The Ekiti Renainsance Movement has called on the state government to consolidate on its achievements and embark on sustainable projects that will add value to the fortune of Ekiti State.
This was the highlight of the decision taken at the expanded meeting of the organization which had Nigeria and diaspora members in attendance, held in Abuja on Thursday and made available to newsmen.
The Ekiti Renainsance Movement commended the state government for the assemblage of commissioners and other political appointees so far appointed by His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji into the administration of Ekiti State which the movement considered as competent hands.
The body sounded a serious warning that, Ekiti people will not tolerate any appointee that will want to act as a clog in the wheel Ekiti State progress through retrogressive tendency which chracterised part of activities of the past administrations in the state where many workers were unjustly retrenched and the victims are still wallowing in pchycological
depression.
The Renaissance Movement congratulated eminent Ekiti indigenes recently appointed variously into the Federal Executive Council, Honourable Minister Dele Alake and other Federal Government appointees, they are pride of all Ekitis and they should not let us down.
The movement maintained that it will form a steering committee that will evaluate the perform of the state government and offer appropriate suggestions where neccesary.
On the spate of insecurity in the state in recent time, the Ekiti State Renaissance Movement called on the State Commissioner of Police and other sister security organisations to work in synergy to combat the scourge, while state government should intensity efforts at providing appropriate security equipments that will aid them to perform optimally.
The movement suggested that, the state border towns across the length and breath of Ekiti State should be given adequate monitoring by joint patrol of all security operatives in the state without any iota of compromises.
The state Governor was commended for the provision of security vehicles which was made available to all security organisations in the state recently.
In finality, Traditional Rulers in the state were also admonished to join hands with State government at ensuring that the state witness peace, progress, social and economic development which can only provide stability in the governance and the social well being of Ekiti people.
The Ekiti Renainsance Movement is poised to join hands with progressive minded organisations and communal oriented societies in ensuring that Ekiti State reclaim its lost glory in all scheme of things
