EKITI TRADERS RAISE ALARM OVER ALLEGED INHUMAN TAX ADMINISTRATION
Traders in Ekiti State are raising alarm over what they described as obnoxious tax regime imposed by the state government.
In a video posted online to make their grievances public, the traders accused the State Internal Revenue Service of inflicting hardship on the people through what they call inhuman taxation.
The officials of the Internal Revenue Service had gone to a street simply known as Osodi in a neighborhood area within Ado-Ekiti the state capital to enforce payment of tax by shop owners.
A female shop owner was seen in the video ranting and yelling that the tax imposed has increased the hardship being experienced by the people.
The trader who spoke in Yoruba wondered why all the shops in the street had to be sealed due to inability to meet up with the tax allegedly imposed.
