EKITI YPP CALLS ON GOVERNOR OYEBANJI TO FOCUS MORE ON GOVERNANCE, AVOID POLITICAL DISTRACTIONS
The Young Progressives Party (YPP) is compelled to express its deep concern over the incessant endorsement activities being carried out by Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration.
In a statement signed by the
Publicity Secretary, Adeyemi Adeparusi “the YPP acknowledges the Governor’s enthusiasm, we strongly believe that his focus should be on delivering good governance rather than engaging in premature campaign activities”.
“As the leader of Ekiti State, Governor Oyebanji’s primary responsibility is to address the pressing needs of the people, including infrastructure development, job creation, healthcare, and education”.
“Instead of channeling resources towards endorsement activities, we urge him to redirect these funds towards improving the lives of Ekiti people”.
“The people of Ekiti State elected Governor Oyebanji to govern, not to engage in perpetual campaigning”.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will announce the election timetable in due course, and we expect the Governor to abide by the rules and wait for the official campaign period”.
“We call on Governor Oyebanji to:
1. Prioritize governance and focus on delivering tangible results to the people of Ekiti State.
2. Redirect funds allocated for endorsement activities towards meaningful development projects.
3. Allow INEC to perform its constitutional role in announcing election timetables and abide by the rules”.
“The YPP believes that good governance, not politicking, should be the hallmark of Governor Oyebanji’s administration”.
“We urge him to focus on leaving a lasting legacy for the people of Ekiti State”, the statement added.
