EKITI YPP CONDEMNS FORMER GOVERNOR’S BROTHER FOR INCITING YOUTHS
… Describes call for protest in Ekiti as impropriety, unpatriotic
The Young Progressives Party(YPP) in Ekiti State has condemned a brother to former governor of the state, Mr. Isaac Fayose over a plan to organise what he describes as ‘O to gee’ protest in the state.
The former governor’s brother had made a video post to announce that protest would hold in the state on December 8th this year over the state of roads in the state.
This had given some residents and stakeholders some concerns, considering the current numerous efforts by the leadership of the state to intervene in many areas requiring attention.
In a chat with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the Acting Publicity Secretary of Young Progressives Party in Ekiti State, Mr. Adeyemi Adeparusi said the party condemned in strong terms the move being spearheaded by Mr. Isaac Fayose.
Adeparusi emphasized that the major stakeholders opposed the earlier plan to stage a nationwide protest having realised the negative effects of the endsars protest on both humans and property in the country.
The YPP Spokesperson wondered why a protest could be planned and restricted to Ekiti, arguing that such development is likely to have political undertone.
According to Adeparusi, “this is not yet a political period as campaigns and politicking is still away as regards political timetable and I can’t understand why a person or group of persons would see this period as when some youths should be mobilised against government and the people in general”.
“The Young Progressives Party is therefore urging our members and youths in Ekiti State in general to ignore any attempt by any person or group of persons to incite them against constituted authorities capable of truncating the peace being enjoyed in the state, the Acting Publicity Secretary added.
