
ERUSU-AKOKO AGOG AS MADAM VICTORIA FAGBEMI LAID TO REST
…Late Iya Ijo of St Thomas’s Anglican Church, Erusu-Akoko was the mother of Dr. Stephen Fagbemi of Ondo Ministry of Health
The remains of the wife of Rt Revd Seth Oni Fagbemi, Mama Victoria Ajayi Fagbemi, the Mama Ijo of St Thomas’s Anglican church Erusu Akoko has been laid to rest in her country Home, Erusu Akoko in Akoko North West Local Government Area of Ondo State
Family members, friends and well-wishers gathered in the ancient town to bid the woman who had played significant roles in the community farewell.
The funeral service was held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Erusu-Akoko where the clergy commended the deceased for her contributions to the community as well as the church of God.
The reception was also another opportunity for friends to identify with the children who include Dr. Stephen Fagbemi of the Public Health of the Ondo State Ministry of Health.
Mama was the daughter of Mr James Ademuwagun and Oke Ademuwagun of Amo Quarters of Erusu Akoko.
Mama Fagbemi was born on the second of August 1932 and was raised by her uncle Abe Fulani after the death of her both parents at a tender age
Mama was a trained teacher but for the calling of her darling husband who was a priest in the Anglican church, she had to follow the path of the wife of a priest.
She served in the vineyard through out her life where she played the role of woman leader in the church, wife and mother to many.
She dedicated her life completely to these courses without engaging in any paid career
Mama served as the first president of Osun Diocese of Mother’s Union and women’s guild, a role she performed passionately until both she and her husband retired in year 2000.
Until her death on the 7th January 2025, she was the Mama Ijo of St Thomas’s Anglican Church, Erusu Akoko, Akoko North West Area of Ondo State
Mama is survived by many Children and Grandchildren notably are Dr Olu Fgabemi, Mrs Yemisi Olusuyi, Dr Stephen Oyegoke Fagbemi, the Director, Public Health of the Ministry of Health and Mr Babatunde Fagbemi.
