FEDERAL GOVERNMENT MOVES TO ESTABLISH ‘YOUTH BANK’
…As Youth Minister, Ayo Olawande inaugurates technical committee to make dream a reality
The Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayo Olawande has inaugurated a Technical Committee for the establishment of a Youth Bank.
Performing the inauguration in Abuja, the Minister emphasized the committee’s crucial role in creating a platform for young people to access financial support, resources, and mentorship.
Olawande stated that the development is part of the efforts of the present administration to justify the confidence reposed in it by ensuring that youths are prepared for leadership roles in both Socio-economic and political levels.
In his words, “this initiative is a key part of the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to empower Nigeria’s youth and unlock their full potential.”
“I am pleased to see representatives from the Bank of Industry, Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Finance, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, and the Ministry of Youth Development come together to make this vision a reality.”
The minister therefore tasked the committee with laying the groundwork for the Youth Bank while emphasising importance of transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
Olawande expressed the hope that the stakeholders would facilitate the building of an institution that will sustainably support Nigerian youth.
