FOREMOST YORUBA TRADITIONAL RULER, ALAAFIN OBA LAMIDI ADEYEMI JOINS ANCESTORS

A prominent traditional ruler in Nigeria, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III has joined his ancestors.
He reportedly passed on in the late hours of Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti.
The remains of the top Yoruba traditional ruler were later taken to Oyo in the early hours of Saturday as traditional rites also commenced.
Oba Adeyemi was 83 years old and had been the longest reigning Alaafin.
He ruled for 52 years.
