A former council boss in Ekiti State, Mr. Tope Longe has expressed confidence that the victory of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji in last Saturday’s governoship election in the state would further unite the party.
Longe who served as Chairman of Oye Local Government and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Oye Constituency 1 in next year’s general elections acknowledged roles played by individuals in ensuring victory for the party.
According to a statement, the former Governor’s aide was optimistic that the party would be more strengthened while more political leaders from other parties would also join the APC.
Longe stated that the rate of development would equally be sustained and even improved upon, considering the experience the Governor-elect has garnered with his involvement at various stages of governance.
In his words, “with the various roles the Governor-elect, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has been playing in government, we are sure that he would hit the ground running immediately he is Inaugurated”.
“Having served as Commissioner at various intervals, Chief of Staff to Governor and Secretary to the State Government, I can assure you that he knows where and when to carry out Interventionist programmes”, Longe added.
