A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mr. Dele Philips has joined his voice to others felicitating the new Executive Governor of the State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his assumption of office.
Mr. Dele Philips who was the Chairman of BAO Campaign Committee in Ekiti West local government area said the emergence of Oyebanji as Governor at this crucial time would attract a high degree of development to the state in terms of infrastructure and human capacity development.
According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Iyiola Adetola, the former House of Representatives aspirant expressed hope that experience garnered by the Governor while serving in various capacities would be brought to bare as he steers the ship of the state.
Mr. Dele Philips emphasized that having served as commissioners in various ministries and Chief of Staff to Governor as well well as Secretary to State Government has familiarised him with corridor of government, assuring that his previous involvement remains an added advantage.
In his words, “we are confident that the Governor would hit the ground running in the first day while the pace of running the administration will be faster in the general interest of the categories of people in the state”.
“We believe in his ability to run an all-inclusive government as well as capacity to deliver on his promises and that’s why we gave our total support in terms of resources and political structures”, Philips stated further.
“Personally, I am sure that by the time our new Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji spends one year in office, the people of Ekiti State would look back and thank God that they took a right decision”, the party chieftain said.
On the inauguration of the Ekiti State International Cargo Airport, the international business mogul said the development which is long overdue would attract more development and also improve the economy of the state.
Mr. Philips said gone are the days when citizens of the state would have to land in neighbouring Ondo State and had to drive another 48kilometers down before getting to one’s destination.
He therefore commended the outgone administration of Dr. John Kayode Fayemi for the inspiration and vision to write his name in gold with the landmark project as a component of finishing well.
