FUOYE PRO-CHANCELLOR, ENGR KAYODE OJO MOURNS EKITI CHIEF JUDGE ADEYEYE
Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Nigeria, Engr. Kayode Olubunmi Ojo has condoled with the family of Ekiti State Chief Judge, Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye over his death.
Justice Oyewole died after a brief illness arising from injuries allegedly sustained when a section of the state High Court Complex collapsed on him in his office early last year.
However, FUOYE Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, Engr. Ojo in a condolence statement issued by the FUOYE Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, commiserated with members of the judiciary, legal profession, families of the deceased’s Chief Judge and the government of Ekiti State.
Besides, Engr Kayode Olubunmi Ojo condoled with the government and the people of Ekiti State on the death of the eminent jurist who was elevated to the Bench in 2002 and named as 5th substantive Chief Judge in 2021 by the Kayode Fayemi administration.
While mourning the deceased, Engr. Ojo said the Chief Judge would be long remembered and honoured for his visionary roles and contributions in the legal advances the state had made towards building a strong, independent and impartial judiciary which was a sine-qua-non for democracy to thrive in the state.
He said: “Justice Adeyeye’s bold articulate judicial decisions and advocacies on access to justice for all and protection of judicial independence are extant signposts for the advancement of the noble profession in the state and beyond.”
However, Engr. Ojo urged all who mourned the late jurist to honoured his memory by working for a better and just society.
Specifically, FUOYE Pro-Chancellor enjoined them to uphold virtues associated with him in his life time of long and dedicated service to Ekiti and Nigeria.
He prayed that GOD to comfort Adeyeye’s family, friends, associates and the government and grant eternal rest to the soul of the departed.
