Family, friends, associates and colleagues from within and outside Nigeria have gathered to celebrate an outstanding academic, entrepreneur and Servant in the vineyard, Pastor(Prof) Anthony Adegbulugbe on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
The events kicked off at Christ Apostolic Church, All Saints District Coordinating Council in Citec Estate, Medaiyese Region in the Federal Capital Territory where the thanksgiving service was presided over by the President of the CAC in Nigeria, Pastor Samuel Oladele.
Others in attendance include CAC General Evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah Oluboye Oladeji, former Governor Segun Oni of Ekiti State, former Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial district, Ayo Arise, former Senator representing Ekiti Central, Tony Adeniyi, SAN, the Chief Executive Officer of LEKOIL, Lekan Akinyanmi and Minister of State for Petroleum(Gas), Rt. Hon. Dr. Ekperikpe Ekpo.
Others are the Vice Chancellor of Obaafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Prof. Bamire who led the institution’s management, the Managing Director of Bank of Industry, Dr. Supo Olusi, Senator Emmanuel Paulker and wife as well as Engr Sunday Babalola Pastor Sola Rotimi among others.
The first bible passage was taken by the celebrant while the second was taken by one of his sons, Niyi Adegbulugbe.
In his message at the gathering, President of Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria, Pastor Samuel Oladele described Pastor(Prof) Anthony Adegbulugbe as a successful entrepreneur, academic, philanthropist, energy expert whose passion for human and societal development will continue to remain a reference point.
Pastor Oladele emphasized that the Chairman of Green Energy International Limited and Senior Pastor of All Saints’ Christ Apostolic Church in Abuja is not only able and capable but also available for the work of God despite his accomplishments.
The CAC President charged people to reflect on their journey in life and contribute to service of humanity and God by imparting positively on the lives of the people around them.
In his testimony, the celebrant said his existence from birth is a miracle and a reflection of Grace as parents almost lost hope whether he could live.
In his words, “when I was to be born, there were complications to the extent that the health workers and my father had to conclude that they should just save my mother’s life but God intervened”.
“I decided to put my testimonies in a book to be launched and distributed to the public at the reception free of charge for people to read about how my existence has been as a result of Amazing Grace”.
“My best song explains it better especially in one’s vernacular language”.
Also speaking, his wife, Mrs. Afolake Adegbulugbe appreciated the entire gathering for the honour done her husband, saying it is a challenge to keep contributing to humanity.
The thanksgiving service confirmed the mood of the septuagenarian and his family as they danced with enthusiasm.
The reception held at Los Angeles Events Center in the Federal Capital Territory also attracted the crème de la crème of the society.
From the academia, oil and gas industry, church of God to various segments of the society that have benefitted from his benevolence.
Prof. Adegbulugbe’s friend of several decades, Dr. Goke Adegoroye welcomed guests to the event and reflected on the various components of personality of the celebrant.
It was celebrations and celebrations as various groups were on hand to present gifts to the celebrant as a mark of appreciation and honour on his special day.
The list include the Committee of Friends, authorities of Joseph Ayo Babalola University where Prof Anthony Adegbulugbe serves as Chancellor, management and staff of Green Energy International Limited, among others
The event also witnessed presentation of two books written by the celebrant.
The first one titled “An Unfolding Story of Grace at 70” which is a reflection of his life history was reviewed by Martins Oloja, an Editor with the Guardian Newspapers.
The second one titled “God’s Grace, His Perfect and Exclusive Gifts” was reviewed by the Executive Director of Corporate Affairs of Green Energy International Limited, Barrister Segun Ilori.
