GOV AKEREDOLU BAGS ROTARY PEACE AMBASSADOR AWARD

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN was on Sunday, conferred with Rotary Peace Ambassador .
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa was conferred with the prestigious award at the investiture ceremony of Rotarian Sola Akunsiku as the 55th President of Rotary Club, Ikeja and Induction of Board Members for the 2022/2023 Rotary Year, held at Lagos Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja Lagos
According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, the Governor bagged the award based on his sterling performance in the area of good governance and his audacity of courage in the face of the ongoing security challenges across the Country.
In the acceptance speech, the Deputy Governor spoke on the need for all citizens to brace up and work with government at all level to bring about peace and security in Nigeria.
According to him, “today, it is evident that we all must work together to bring about the change that we all desire and must have, especially in the area of security”.
He said, “the constitution guarantees and entrust the security and welfare of the people on government, and in Ondo State, Mr Governor has consistently maintained that he will not play politics with the life of any of the state citizen, hence the issue of security is very dear to him” .
In the last five years, Akeredolu’s government has been enhancing opportunities for social change through strategic investments that improve health and welbeing, promote quality education and good road network, broaden economic empowerment opportunities amongst others in the Sunshine State .
