GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA APPROVES ANOTHER ONE BILLION NAIRA FOR 3RD TRANCHE BULK DEFRAYMENT OF GRATUITY ARREARS OF LG RETIREES

A month After 2nd Tranche of defrayment of Gratuity Arrears for Local Government Retirees, the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved payment of another 1 billion Naira to defray Gratuity arrears of Local Government Retirees.
In continuation of the gradual bulk defrayment of Gratuity Arrears for Local Government and Primary School Retirees, the Ondo State Government is set to complete payment of 2012 and flag off defrayment of 2013 on Friday.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro gave this hint in his office in Akure.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Media and Publicity Unit in the ministry, Abooluwa Famakinwa, the Commissioner said being a government that is sensitive to the plight of the people, the Aiyedatiwa -led administration has decided to pay the gratuities of retirees en bloc ,rather than paying piece meal.
Being determined to offset backlog of Gratuities owed Local Government Retirees, Governor Aiyedatiwa has approved another 1 billion Naira within a month of payment of the 2nd tranche, as it was paid just last month .
Takuro reiterated the Governor’s commitment not only to continue in this trend , but to make it quarterly.
Amidu Takuro further stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa has been alive to his responsibilities as regards payment of Pensions, Salaries of Workers and other entitlements.
Takuro who said the Governor will not fail the people of the State, urged Retirees and the entire Workforce to give him their unflinching support .
