Speaking during the 2024 State’s Service of Carols and Nine Lessons held at the International Centre for Culture and Events (The Dome), Akure, on Thursday, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the true essence of Christmas as a time for reflection and renewal of values.
“This season is a testament to divine goodwill towards mankind, unfolding the great plan of redemption, worship, and praise to the Almighty God for His benevolence,” he said.
The Governor expressed gratitude to God for the peace and stability witnessed in the state over the past year, particularly during the November 16 governorship election.
“We serve a living God that truly loves us, the Almighty who overlooks our imperfections to rescue us from the vicissitudes of life. Of remarkable testament to His endless grace is the peace and calmness we witnessed across the State, where we coasted to an unprecedented victory. It is a collective victory which we have since dedicated to God and the good people of Ondo State,” he stated.
Reflecting on the achievements of his administration since assuming office in December 2023, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted several milestones, including the implementation of a new minimum wage of ₦73,000, ongoing infrastructure projects, and improvements in education, security, and agriculture.

He further called for patience and understanding as Nigeria undergoes economic reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that these changes are crucial for collective growth.
