
GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA REAFFIRMS INCLUSIVITY OF WOMEN IN ACHIEVING GOOD GOVERNANCE

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has again emphasized the place of his administration in promoting gender inclusivity.
The Governor was speaking at the Inauguratiion of Engr Engr. Adenike Obakoyowa, MNSE as the 7th Chairman of Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria in Ondo State
The Governor represented by his Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye Congratulated the new Leadership, commending the newly inaugurated Chairman and leadership team.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also identified with the entire association for taking the initiative to create women’s role in Engineering and STEM.
In his words, “women are innovative and creative so they bring unique problem-solving approaches, creativity, and perspectives to engineering, leading to more inclusive and effective solutions.
“Women always add the feminine touch because they are not only professionals at the workplaces, they are managers on all fronts, including the home which always brings out the beauty and creativity in whatever they do.
Aiyedatiwa expressed happiness that women are bridging the gender gap in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics towards achieving economic growth.
The governor said Increasing female participation in engineering boosts economic development by tapping into a wider talent pool as women’s involvement can help fill skill gaps, drive technological advancements and contribute to national development in sectors like infrastructure, energy, and manufacturing.
“When we bring in our different talents, we gradually bridge the gender gaps. Women are multipliers and bring a lot of improvement to the economy. They also pave way for upcoming girls and women when they participate”.
The Governor emphasized that women face challenges especially in male dominated professions like engineering.
“Taking the initiative to create a platform like this for women to interact and brainstorm is highly commendable”, Aiyedatiwa stressed.
“Our Government is doing everything possible to see that women are seen, heard and empowered through the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs and Social Development”.
