The Ondo State Government is set to flag off a special empowerment programme tagged “Skill Up a Woman Initiative in Akure the state capital.
The programme being championed by the Office of the Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Women Affairs is to be held at the Skills Acquisition Center of the Ministry of Women Affairs, Alagbaka, Akure.
According to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye, the move is one of the numerous programmes the Aiyedatiwa administration has put in place to make life more meaningful for women.
According to her, it is a component of the “Our Ease” agenda of the present administration, noting that more programmes would also be unveiled in the process of fulfilling the electoral promises made by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for women.
In her words, “Skill Up A Woman Initiative which involves trainings and Skills development of Ondo State Women is an initiative of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa aimed at reducing unemployment and poverty levels among women”.
“The Skill Acquisition Centre of the Ministry will be activated today to enable all interested Women to attend Trainings to be equipped with employable skills that will make them self reliant and self sufficient after which successful trainees will provided with a start up capital”.
