GUNMEN ABDUCT FARMER, LABOURER IN ONDO, DEMAND N15M RANSOM
A farmer and a laborer were kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Saturday evening in Oke Oge, Oba Ile area of Akure North Local Government Area, Ondo State.
The victims were abducted while returning from a farm near Akure Airport
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the state commander of Amotekun, confirmed the incident and assured that efforts are being made to rescue the victims.
“We are on top of the situation,” he said, adding that his men have been deployed to rescue the duo from the kidnappers’ den.
The kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N15 million from the victims’ families, according to a family source.
The source confirmed that the kidnappers had contacted the families, but no further details were provided.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of residents in the area, particularly farmers and laborers who work in the rural areas.
The authorities have been urged to take prompt action to rescue the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
