HAKEEM JAMIU, DELE ODULE AKINOLA FALANA, SHINE AT EKITI STATE BUREAU OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT STAND AT EKIFEST ’24
The Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development stand at the Fajuyi Pavilion during the 2024 EKIFEST, packed by the Ekiti State Ministry of Culture,Arts and Creative was undoubtedly the center of attraction, thanks to the exceptional efforts of the team.
Led by the Director-General, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, the Bureau ensured that visitors to the exhibition ground were treated to an array of exciting programs and events, including the highlight of the day – the Ayo Olopon Competition.
The Ayo Olopon Competition was graced by the presence of Rt Hon Hakeem Jamiu, who served as the Special Guest of Honor. The event also featured the iconic Nollywood personalities, Otunba Dele Odule and Akinola Falana, an indigene of Ekiti State.
The guests could not resist the alluring and captivating drum,songs and dance from the best Ekiti native songs cultural exponent ,Olaniyi Enudunjuyo .
Rt Hon Hakeem Jamiu captivated the audience with his insightful discussion on the significance of Ayo Olopon, a traditional board game deeply rooted in Ekiti culture. Dele Odule, in his address, traced his parentage to Ekiti, proudly showcasing his connection to the state. Akinola Falana, on the other hand, commended the Ekiti State Governor on the impressive tourism initiatives.
The Executive Secretary of the Bureau, Barrister Adegboyega Morakinyo, expressed his gratitude to all the distinguished guests for their participation and support, further reinforcing the Bureau’s commitment to promoting Ekiti’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
In addition to the captivating Ayo Olopon Competition, the Bureau of Tourism Development also introduced a novel attraction – a Lincoln Continental Limousine used for tour packaging, which added a touch of elegance and luxury to the exhibition.
Overall, the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development’s stand at EKIFEST 24 was a resounding success, showcasing the state’s vibrant tourism sector and the dedicated efforts of the Bureau to position Ekiti as a premier destination for visitors and investors alike.
