HOW BENUE DEPUTY SPEAKER ALLEGEDLY LEAKED CLASSIFIED HOUSE REPORT ON GOV ALIA, JOINED SPEAKER’S REMOVAL PLOT – REPORT
The embattled deputy speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mrs Lami Danladi Ogenyi has been alleged of leaking classified information of the House of Assembly about the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia to the media.
Just three days ago, a classified information of the House of Assembly which was allegedly prepared by the ousted speaker, Mr. Dajoh Aondoana where the governor was alleged of looting N345.3 billion Naira within two years dominated the cyberspace.
The report also contained an already signed impeachment notice on the Governor.
The letter was signed by 22 members of the House of Assembly including the Deputy speaker who is apparently working with some APC stakeholders under the leadership of Senators Titus Zam, Emanuel Udende and Abba Moro.
According to findings, it was the recent resignation of the former speaker that stopped the impeachment move which was sponsored by the Benue APC stakeholders against the governor.
Report indicated that the deputy speaker, Mrs Danladi met with the duo of Senator Titus Zam and Emmanuel Udende where they ordered her to release the report where the governor was accused of looting N345.3 billion within two years by the former speaker to the press.
“A huge amount of money was allegedly released to the deputy speaker for the media publications, and media houses to lavishly use the classified House of Assembly’s report on the governor” a member of the House of Assembly who preferred not to be mentioned.
According to him, Mrs Danladi has allegedly started working with the Benue APC stakeholders to arrange the impeachment of the new speaker, Mr. Berger Alfred whom that have tagged as the governor’s stooge.
He said: “The deputy speaker has arranged a meeting of twenty two lawmakers at the Abuja residence of a former chairman of Gboko local government, Honourable Abua Crucial for next week.
The meeting is where the plan to remove the new speaker will be perfected. We have been mandated to instal Mrs Becky Orpine as the new speaker immediately Berger Alfred is removed as speaker”.
“If care is not taken, there will be a serious crisis in the House of Assembly as from next week as it has been resolved that both the speaker and the governor should be impeached. For the speaker, he will be facing accusation of carpeting such a damning report about the governor just to gain favour”
