HOW OLUSOMOKA AKINOLA FAMILY HELD LUXURIOUS EVENTS TO MARK PATRIARCH’S 10TH YEAR REMEMBRANCE IN ADO-EKITI
It was an event put together to remember a man who nurtured them from childhood to greatness.
Naijaparrots reporter, Demola Kunlere gathered that late Pa Michael Olusomoka Akinola was a father who did everything to make his children great in life.
He started as a blacksmith and later went into commercial transportation before ending up as one of the most prolific car dealer in the then Ado-Ekiti and old Ondo State in the late 70s, 80s and 90s.
He was a father who gave all his children the required support to attain their desired level of academic records as they are all doing great in all their chosen careers.
As a way of remembering their father, the children led by Mr. Bisi Akinola popularly known as ‘Bisime’ came up with a number of events to mark their father’s 10th year remembrance.
On Saturday 28th September, they all gathered at their father’s house at Kajola area of Dallimore in Ado-Ekiti where friends of the family also joined the ceremony.
Apart from a musical band on standby, there was much to eat and drink while an audiovisual documentary on the life and times of their father popularly known as Aba’Lu was viewed.
On Sunday 29th September, the children and their loved ones converged on Emmanuel Cathedral, Okesha, Ado-Ekiti for a thanksgiving service where the children donated a Toyota Sienna Car to the church for the development of evangelism.
The first son of Late Pa Akinola, Bisi Akinola said it was in continuation of their father’s love for evangelism and growth of Christianity.
Just after the service, a reception was later held at their residence at Egbewa area of the state capital where a band stand was on hand to entertain the guests.
There was much to eat and drink as friends of the family from within and outside the state as well as abroad gathered to identify with their owns.
Among them was a senatorial aspirant from Ondo State, Matthew Oyerinde popularly known as ‘MATO’ and Mrs Adewale all the way from the United States of America.
The list of friends from other parts of the country including Port Harcourt and Lagos as well as Oyo State were too numerous to mention.
Crocodile and giant snake were already being grilled just as ‘asun’ experts were also racing against time to deliver sumptuous delicacy to the guests.
On the band stand was Orlando West, a popular musician who took after the famous Orlando Owoh of blessed memory.
It was a thrilling and glamorous moment as the musician took guests to memory lane as regards the various hit tracks of the famous Orlando Owoh.
The children danced one after the other led by their brother, Bisi Akinola popularly known as ‘Bisime’ as her wife , Bucky also joined the dance floor.
Similarly, another Son, Oluwole was not left out as the tunes from the Orlando West reminded him of the days of his youth as a school boy.
Others including Banji Akinola popularly known as ‘Ameme’ and his wife, Dupe also took to the dancefloor to display their own talents.
Friends from far and near joined the celebrants to appreciate God for witnessing the day as the beats from Orlando West kept the pace sustained.
For their sister, Feyi, it was a moment to take over the stage with her friends and immediate family.
They all danced to the admiration of guests who were treated to sumptuous meals and chilled drinks of various standards.
