The Students of Ilaje High School, Igbokoda have been inducted Into the “Young Farmers Club”, Ondo State Chapter.
It is an initiative of the Renewed Hope Initiative of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Federal Ministry Of Agriculture to promote Agricultural education, practical farming skills, and foster a sense of responsibility towards sustainable farming practices among pupils in public upper primary and junior secondary school students across Nigeria.
Performing the ceremony in Igbokoda in Ilaje local government area, Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Women Affairs, Dr. Seun Osamaye said the aim is to empower the youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to the agricultural sector and promote food security in Nigeria.
Osamaye said the state government would put in place all the required structures and processes to ensure the success of the programme.
“The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa appreciates Her Excellency, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her impactful Initiatives and reiterates his administration’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in Agriculture”.
“Inducted members are provided with Start up materials and over 200 students and pupils in Ondo state will be inducted in the first phase”, Dr. Osamaye added.
