ILE-OLUJI CULTURAL HERITAGE ON DISPLAY AS OIJEFON YOUTH COUNCIL HOLDS 2024 YOUTH FESTIVAL

The Oijefon Youth Council has held this year’s Oijefon Youth Festival featuring various attractive events that brought together indigenes from far and near with a common goal.
The 2024 Oijefon Youth Festival, themed “Your Destiny is in Your Hand”, concluded triumphantly, leaving an indelible mark on attendees and the wider community.
According to a statement personally signed by the President of Oijefon Youth Council, Engr. Dokun Adeyonu, the event which was the last activity of this year’s Ile-Oluji day celebration was held at the city round about.
In his words, “the festival celebrated youth empowerment, talent and leadership with record-breaking participation and enthusiasm”.
“With over three hundred young participants and visitors, the festival served as a vibrant platform for fostering unity, creativity, innovation, and resilience”.
“The event featured a diverse range of activities, including:
Inspiring talks from opinion leaders, motivational speakers and community influencers on topics like self-determination, career building, mental health and youth involvement in community development”.
Talent were showcased where Young artists, musicians, and performers displayed their skills reflecting the community’s vibrant and diverse cultural heritage.
Interactive Competitions and game contests, tech innovations and art exhibitions, participants had opportunities to challenge themselves and learn from one another.
Resource Fairs where home and foreign based indigenes provided career guidance, rewards opportunities, and mentorship for youth development.
The President of Oijefon Youth Council, Engr Dokun Adeyonu stressed that the Council expressed her gratitude, saying, “This year’s festival embodies the spirit of self-determination”.
“The theme, ‘Your Destiny is in Your Hand,’ resonated deeply with our youth, inspiring them to take charge of their futures, be useful for themselves and our dear community. The overwhelming response from the community reflects a shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.”
